Memorial service for Aza Pinney

1 February: A service will be held in memory of the late Aza Pinney at St David's Church, Llanddewi Brefi on Saturday 20th February at 1pm.

Sheepdog Trials on BBC Alba

7 January: Following the success of the first series of sheepdog trials on Scotland's BBC Alba, a second series is under way on Tuesday evenings at 9pm. The programmes have English subtitles.

All Wales Nursery Final

20 December: The first Nursery Final of the season took place in Wales last week, with a very close result: Bryn Davies and Cap from North Wales winning by a single point, but South Wales taking the team prize. Full report in the January/February issue of International Sheepdog News.

2011 World Sheep Dog Trial News

19 November: The ISDS is in discussion with Lowther Estates, Cumbria for it to be the site for the 2011 World Trials, held over 15 - 18 September 2011.  The Lowther management are very supportive and the ISDS held a very successful International Trial there this September.

For those planning a 'trip to remember' to the UK it is ideally located in a beautiful part of Northern England.  The week before sees the ISDS International Trial take place in Tain, Ross-shire, (8 -10 September) in the far North of Scotland, and this would make it possible to see two great events in two excellent locations over the two weeks.

World Trial 2011

6 February : The Society is pleased to announce that it will stage the 2011 event in England, somewhere in the North and possibly on the Eastern side of the country, sites are being evaluated. It will be in September but the dates are being checked in relation to other events around that time.

6 February: At the close of the Society’s Annual Meetings in Carlisle on 31st January there were several items of news that will be of interest to those who register dogs with the Society or compete at National Trials.Please follow the indicated links for the full story.
EYE TESTING: With the support of the veterinary authorities, the rule requiring dogs to be over two years old before an eye examination is valid for breeding purposes is abolished. More details available.
TRANSFER CARDS: If someone ‘keeps’ the dog and its certificate the Society will consider an application to become the Registered Keeper. More details available.
QUALIFYING TRIALS: The definition of a valid Qualifying Trial, to gain points for entry to the Society National trials, has been clarified. More details available.
